Welcome to AICGB!

The Alternative Insemination Center of Greater Boston is dedicated to supporting women achieve pregnancy via alternative insemination (AI) services. Our clients include same-sex couples, heterosexual couples, and single women. Our program is run by Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs) in consultation with an OB-GYN physician. We look forward to working with you during this special time!


The hallmarks of this program are:

1. Women provide the services for women.

2. You'll have one CNM as your primary resource person to help you through the insemination process, although another CNM or the OB-GYN may do the insemination procedures.

3. When you become pregnant, you can choose a CNM or an OB-GYN for pregnancy and birth care and receive care in the same office.

4. You may take advantage of our on-site storage facilities in case you'd like to have other babies in the future.

5. Our services are available 365 days of the year, and we'll get you started as soon as possible.


AI services are most often used by lesbian couples and single women, but heterosexual couples often need AI services too.  Common reasons for donor insemination include a partner having had chemotherapy or radiation for cancer, low sperm count, poor sperm motility, or risk of passing on a serious congenital condition or syndrome. For these couples, donor insemination is a great way to start a family.
